StarCraft II

If there is anything rewarding about StarCraft II, it's winning a match. But it's nearly impossible to win the match when I get destroyed within the first 8 minutes of the match.

It seems that every person I'm paired against is way above my skill level. I have won about 3 matches and lost nearly 50. Of the 50 or so matches I've lost, the matches were not even close.

 Jesus Christ...not again...

I consider myself so bad that I barely reach the Bronze League. For those who don't play StarCraft, no matter terribly you play, you are defaulted to Bronze League.

I must not know how to play correctly, even though I've watched countless videos on how to correctly play Protoss: like The Basic Opener or The Gold Old 4 Gate. I've tried both of these but have rarely won. It seems like when I have won, it was because they person I was going against must have had no thumbs.

I'll agree with what a lot of you are thinking, I'm just bad at StarCraft II. But it seems that I never play people that are equally as bad. I always play people that seem to be locked in Bronze League, unless the Bronze League consists of skill that ranges from borderline autistic (me) to semi-good. I'll never know anything past the Bronze League, I'll probably be stuck there for quite some time - maybe when Blizzard decides to make StarCraft III, will I make it to Silver League...

Spring Break

While being a college student on spring break not partying, and, in fact, sitting at home procrastinating, I thought I might as well start a blog. So I guess I'm going to rant about spring break and why I'm not too fond of it.

How do people even go to places like Cancun for spring break? You're in college and most of you are in debt. I doubt you parents are paying for 100% of your schooling, even so - my parents would go crazy if I said I was going to Cancun for spring break. The price of college is anything but cheap, and so is a week long trip to Mexico. It just seems to be impractical to go to anywhere exotic while you're in college, just wait until after you graduate and have a job.

Now this second part may only be for me, but as an engineer I have little to no time to party. I was given school work to do over my break, and will be starting that sometime before I go back. But seriously, stereotypically, the people that go to places like Mexico are party-goers. Most of the party-goers I know are not in engineering, those that are probably won't continue to be in engineering. My friend who is going to college to be a gym teacher is going down to Miami over his break. Not to be rude, but physical education is not that mentally challenging; there is the saying "those who can't teach, teach gym" for a reason.

I guess this whole spring break thing is not for me. I would rather sit around and write / bitch about it or read a book or get destroyed in a game of StarCraft II.
